May 10 2026
Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, yesterday conducted a series of housing development inspections across Bartica as part of the Government’s continued push to expand housing opportunities and monitor ongoing infrastructural works in Region Seven.
During the packed schedule, Minister Croal, accompanied by members of his technical team, visited several developing areas including Block CHPA Development, Block CHPA Extension South, the Tract BAR Development, and the Four Miles Housing Scheme. The inspections focused on assessing the pace and quality of works currently underway as multiple housing projects continue to progress across the township.
A major highlight of the visit was the update on the housing programme, where it was disclosed that a total of 40 houses have already been completed out of a projected 55 homes planned for the area. The development marks a significant step forward in the Ministry’s efforts to provide improved housing opportunities for residents while supporting the continued expansion of Bartica.
Discussions were also held regarding future layouts, infrastructure planning, and additional works expected to benefit residents in the coming months. Officials noted that the developments are progressing on schedule and are expected to deliver a major boost to the region once fully completed.
The inspections form part of the Ministry’s wider countrywide housing development initiative aimed at accelerating infrastructure, improving accessibility, and increasing homeownership opportunities for Guyanese families.
