Guyana finishes with four gold medals at CARIFTA

Guyana closed out the 2026 CARIFTA Games with four gold medals when the event concluded on Monday in Grenada.
Tiana Springer copped gold in the girl’s under-20 400 metres, Malachi Austin got his gold medal in the boy’s under-20 400 metres, Olivia Solomon won the final gold medal for the team on Monday afternoon in the girl’s under-17 800 metres and the fourth gold medal came on the first day of the games in the mixed 4×400 metres relay.
Jermaine Shepherd got silver in the boy’s under-17 1500 metres while Javon Roberts won bronze in the boy’s under-20 1500 metres.
The team is expected to arrive in Guyana this week.
