“Pinky” remanded on child rape charge

A 28-year-old seaman of Pepper Street, Edinburgh, East Bank Berbice, has been remanded to prison after being charged with the rape of a minor.
The accused, Christopher Ally, also known as “Pinky” was arrested on March 24, 2026, and formally charged two days later with the offence of rape of a child under the age of sixteen.
He appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on March 26 before Magistrate Michelle Matthias, where the indictable charge was read to him. He was not required to enter a plea.
The court ordered that he be remanded to prison, and the matter was adjourned to April 16, 2026.
Authorities have withheld the identity of the victim due to her age.
Ally is also expected to be charged with attempted murder.
