Teen girl, father perish in early morning Madela crash

A man and his 15-year-old daughter lost their lives in a horrific early Thursday morning crash at the Mandela Roundabout in Georgetown.
Dead are Kenneth Johnson of ‘A’ Field, Liliendaal, the driver of motor car PAL 2882, and his daughter Kelly Johnson, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred at about 01:50 hrs when Kenneth Johnson was driving along the Aubrey Barker Road approaching the Mandela Roundabout when he lost control of the vehicle
The car collided with a concrete median and turned turtle several times before coming to a stop, leaving the vehicle extensively damaged.
The occupants were flung from the vehicle during the crash and were later found lying unconscious along the roadway.
The man’s teenage son who was also in the vehicle at the time, is said to be in critical condition.
