20-Y-O killed in violent clash at La Parafaite Harmonie

A violent altercation at a shop in La Parafaite Harmonie on Sunday night, February 22, 2026, has resulted in the death of 20-year-old Roberto Grant, also known as “Kayan.”
According to police, the incident occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and involved Grant, an unemployed resident of La Parafaite Harmonie, and a 41-year-old construction worker from Grove.
Reports indicate that an argument escalated into a physical confrontation during which both men armed themselves with objects and inflicted injuries on each other.
Both individuals were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital for medical treatment. Grant was admitted but later died while receiving care.
A broken piece of a glass bottle was recovered at the scene, and cameras in the surrounding area were identified as potential sources of additional information.
Grant’s body is currently at the Ezekiel Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
