A quantity of suspected cannabis was seized following an operation carried out on Monday, December 1, 2025, at School Street, Mahdia, Potaro.

According to a police report, during routine checks in the area, ranks found two transparent plastic bags and twenty-nine small zip-lock bags hidden behind a zinc structure in an abandoned section of the location.

The bags contained leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.

The substance was taken to the Mahdia Police Station, where it was weighed, amounting to 555 grams. It was subsequently sealed and lodged as evidence.

Investigations continue.
