Linden Miner Fatally Shot at Issano Landing

Police have launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of 22-year-old miner Samuel Marciano of One Mile, Wismar, Linden, which occurred early Sunday morning at Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.

According to reports, the incident took place around 1:00 a.m. on November 2, 2025, at a shop located at 14 Miles, Issano Landing, during a social gathering.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Marciano was shot multiple times by two known individuals. Police ranks who responded to the scene found the victim’s body with several gunshot wounds, along with a number of spent shells and a live round recovered nearby.

The body was later transported to the McKenzie Hospital, where Marciano was pronounced dead on arrival. His remains are currently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Investigators are actively pursuing the two suspects believed to be involved in the shooting. The Guyana Police Force has urged anyone with information to contact 911 or the nearest police station.

Investigations are ongoing.
