Aircraft runs off runway at Mahdia Airstrip

An aircraft carrying five passengers and a pilot reportedly ran off the runway at the Mahdia Airstrip in Region Eight on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the aircraft had landed at the airstrip when it veered off the runway and came to a halt on the eastern side.
According to Police, no injuries were reported among the pilot or passengers, and no cargo was reported lost or damaged. The aircraft, however, reportedly sustained minor damage to its wheels.
Police ranks visited the scene and obtained statements from relevant persons as investigations continue into the incident.
