Hampton Court Primary gets New Library

November 7, 2024– Education Minister Priya Manickchand has inaugurated a new library at Hampton Court Primary School as part of her continued commitment to advancing educational opportunities across the country.

This launch is a component of the Ministry of Education’s broader strategy to strengthen educational infrastructure, with a particular focus on expanding access to quality learning resources throughout Guyana.

The newly opened library features a collection of approximately 460 books, offering a wide range of reading materials aimed at enhancing students’ academic and personal development.

During the launch ceremony, Minister Manickchand emphasized the role of libraries as critical spaces for fostering literacy, intellectual growth, and a lifelong love of learning.

“This library is not just a collection of books,” said Minister Manickchand, “It is a space where students can explore, grow, and engage in meaningful educational experiences beyond the classroom.”

The Hampton Court Primary library aims to serve not only students but also the wider community, creating a hub for learning activities and supporting the Ministry’s goals of improving literacy and educational outcomes.

Equipped with both books and digital resources, the library is set to play a vital role in enabling students to reach their full potential and encouraging a culture of reading and knowledge-sharing in the region.
