Holligan Fined for Multiple Offenses

Shamar Holligan, a resident of Lot 54 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice, appeared in court on Tuesday, facing several charges stemming from an incident on August 24, 2024. Holligan, who was arrested for driving without a license and assaulting a peace officer, appeared before Her Worship Michelle Matthias at the Albion Magistrate Court.

During the court session, Holligan pleaded guilty to all the charges brought against him. The fines imposed by the court were as follows:

 

  1. Obscured I.D. mark (front) – $100,000
  2. Assault of a Peace Officer – $20,000
  3. Failure to conform to a traffic sign – $5,000
  4. Using a hand-held mobile device while driving – $5,000
  5. Operating an unlicensed motor vehicle – $5,000
  6. Driving a motorcycle without wearing a safety helmet – $5,000
  7. Driving an uncertified motor vehicle – $5,000
  8. Operating an uninsured motor vehicle – $5,000
  9. Driving without a license – $5,000

In total, Holligan was fined $155,000, which he promptly paid.
