As climate records are shattered and emissions continue to rise, UN Secretary-General António Guterres is set to deliver a pivotal speech at the American Museum of Natural History on World Environment Day.

Scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, Guterres will confront the dire state of the climate, emphasizing the severe risks global leaders are taking and outlining urgent actions required from companies and countries, particularly the G7 and G20, over the next eighteen months to ensure a livable future for humanity.

In his address, the Secretary-General is expected to present new data from the World Meteorological Organization, the Copernicus Climate Change Service, and the Indicators of Global Climate Change, providing a stark overview of the current climate crisis and the immediate steps needed to mitigate its impacts.
