Approximately 250 families whose properties are in disrepair along Laing Avenue, will soon benefit from much-needed building materials, to carry out rehabilitation works on their homes.

Vice President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo made this announcement during a community meeting at the St. Pius Primary School recently.

Accompanying the Vice President, were Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, Chief Executive Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority, Mr. Sherwyn Greaves and several other cabinet members.

According to the VP, the $50M initiative will be rolled out through the Ministry of Housing and Water-Central Housing and Planning Authority.

On November 7, a team from the executing agency will return to the community to commence the documentation process, to assess the needs and level of repairs to be carried out.

Upon approval, each beneficiary will receive vouchers to uplift building materials, to effect the repair to their buildings.
