Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond, on Friday, met with the family who recently lost their Charlestown home to fire.

Minister Walrond shared words of encouragement and presented a financial contribution on behalf of President Irfaan Ali and the Government of Guyana. She pledged continued support for the family as they navigate this period.

The family explained that losing their home has been a challenging experience, but they are heartened by the outpouring of love they have received.

They thanked President Ali and the Government for the tangible support and concern.

The three-storey home was gutted by fire on Wednesday, leaving 14 people homeless.
