A 29-year-old French Guianese national wanted in connection with a murder investigation has been denied bail as extradition proceedings get underway in Guyana.

Dane Langhorne, who resides at Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Chief Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 13, in proceedings under the Fugitive Offenders Act, Chapter 10:04.

The proceedings relate to an arrest warrant issued through INTERPOL in connection with the murder investigation.

Langhorne was arrested around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, during a police operation at Lusignan Tarmac, East Coast Demerara. He was subsequently taken into custody at the Cove and John Police Station.

When the matter was called on Tuesday, the information was read to Langhorne, after which his defence counsel applied for bail. The application was denied.

The matter was adjourned to October 23, 2026, for further proceedings.
