-conspiracy charge upgraded to murder

A 25-year-old woman allegedly lured 45-year-old Guyanese accountant Reagan Reece then reportedly shot him dead.

The motive is said to be monetary gain, sources out of Trinidad told Big Smith News Watch. Reece’s vehicle has reportedly not been recovered and it is believed that the suspect may have sold it.

Initially, the St. Francois Valley Road, Belmont woman was to have been charged with conspiracy to murder. That charge has been upgraded to murder.

She’s likely to appear in court on Wednesday, August 9.

“She lured him under the pretext of wanting to be his girlfriend and then shot him,” a source told this newscast.

It is unclear how long alleged killer and victim had known each other.

Big Smith News Watch understands that homicide investigators had detained the woman prior to finding Reece’s body.

“They were charging her with conspiracy to murder prior to finding the body but then they found him.”

Police, responding to a tip, found and exhumed Reece’s corpse, which bore gunshot wounds, from a grave in Windy Hill, Arouca on Sunday, July 23.

The Daily Express said that “at 2.45 p.m., homicide officers went to Palm Drive. About 100 feet off the road was an abandoned shack. Near the shack was a freshly dug mound, covered by a circularly wooden board. A cadaver dog and undertakers were brought.”

“Six feet down, they found the body, wrapped in cloth and plastic. There was a tattoo on the chest.”

Reece reportedly vanished on June 22, 2023. He had recently visited a barber shop, reports stated.

He was wearing black three-quarter pants, black tee shirt and black sneakers and was last seen at Lopinot Junction, Arouca, driving his Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle had also vanished.

According to reports out of Trinidad, police were told that Reece’s vehicle was spotted several times, and there was an attempt to sell it.

While it appears that no one else has been implicated , indications are that the killing was well planned and was committed by at least two individuals, who would have had to help wrap and transport the body and bury it.

The wrapping of the corpse shows the care the prime suspect and those who aided her took to keep investigators from tracing blood and other forensic evidence to them or the vehicle they used.

While there is no word on whether Reece’s mobile phone was found, detectives would have checked the victim’s phone records for his last contacts. Cell phone towers would also indicate where the instrument was last used.

Trinidad has been plagued with an escalating number of brutal murders and kidnappings in recent years.

Many of the victims have not been located.
