A taxi driver whose name was given as Owen was this evening killed in the community of Mocha Arcadia where as he was in the process of dropping off a number of passengers.

BIG Smith Crime Watch was informed that the incident took place at Cemetery Road in the community at approximately 21:30 hrs. We were told that there was some sort of misunderstanding between the man and his passengers when as they arrived at the final destination.

Family members said they repeatedly cautioned Owen about working late hours especially in the community of Mocha Arcadia.

From all indications, the man is said to have been reportedly chasing after a suspect or suspects who were carrying out the robbery on him and one turned back and reportedly discharged a shot which struck him.

The dead man at the time of the attack was driving motorcar PRR 3313, a Toyota IST, the police investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The deceased after the being attacked was left laying in a pool of blood as the residents await the arrival of the police. He was clad in white and orange jersey, long jeans and was seen clutching what appeared to be a knife or screw driver in his right hand suspected to have been the object he attempted to defend himself with.
