Butler, Miami steals game one.

The Miami Heat’s impressive run as an 8th seed inside these NBA playoffs continued as they were able to hold off the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden to claim victory in a heavily contested game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Jimmy Butler finished on the night with 35 points as he was able to steer this Miami ship against the tide of the Celtics’ home crowd to get the much-needed victory.

Miami was able to come away with the victory through an efficient shooting display and critical defensive stops when they needed to, limiting the Celtics’ star to a combined total of 52 points while winning their 3rd game 1 of these playoffs. Miami shot 54% from the field and 52% from 3-point range en route to 123 points while limiting the Boston Celtics to 1.

Jimmy Butler was all over the game, adding 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 steals in Miami’s effort to ensure game 1 was won. Miami also had 6 players who played over 10 minutes recording at least 15 points, while recording its most efficient game since game 1 of the first round.

Boston was horrible on the night, by their standards at least. They shot 35% from beyond the arc, their two best players went for 30 (Tatum) and 22 (Brown).

Tatum recorded more turnovers in the fourth quarter than the entire Miami team, and let us admit it, you’re not beating this tough Miami team by not taking care of the ball. Boston will have to make the necessary adjustments for game 2, which jumps off on Friday.
