Presidential Guard injured after totalling 2023 Land Cruiser

A policeman attached to the Presidential Guard was this morning injured following an accident at Soesdyke, along the East Bank Demerara.
Our sources have indicated that the policeman was in the company of another person when the accident occurred and that he was also carrying his force-issued weapon with him at the time.
BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that the policeman was at the time attempting to overtake a convoy which was being escorted by a marked police vehicle when he lost control and careened off the road, bringing down a utility pole in the process.
According to traffic ranks, the Land Cruiser was not part of the convoy.
It is unclear if the policeman was on any special duties at the time of the accident.
