Granger robbed youths of opportunities during his Presidency- says Bond

Former President David Granger is regarded as a President who was out of touch and while sitting as Guyana’s head of State, robbed young people of much-needed opportunities. This is according to James Bond, a former PNCR Member of Parliament and Party Member.

Bond was at the time speaking during a pre-recorded interview of FOCUS which will be aired this evening at 19:00hrs on the BIG Smith News Watch’s YouTube Channel.

The FULL INTERVIEW will be aired at 19:00hrs this evening.

“Let me just let people know, I am no fan of President Granger, but I could be honest here. I think if I am to criticize him and I would like this to be on the record too, is that he is a bad judge of talent, a very bad judge of talent and I think he became grossly out of touch, how could you be president for so long and your main constituency is the most disgruntled” Bond questioned.

He went on to state during his FOCUS interview; “President Granger never went into Sophia, I took him to Sophia in 2014 and Georgetown never saw him back, in terms of rallies, yes, but he never walked about in Tiger Bay, he was not doing walkabouts in Queenstown, he was not doing walkabouts in Campbellville… this is Guyanese politics here, they just want to see you, half of your work as a politician is done by people seeing you, as president, he [David Granger] robbed Region 4 of his presence”

James Bond said when it came to the youth, they were not treated properly and that affected David Granger’s Presidency.

“He did a great injustice to young people. Young people will make mistakes and once you got good guidance and you got good people around you, they will be good, but you must give young people opportunities. I think that is one of the things that he robbed young people of during his presidency. the former MP said in his interview.
