Police are investigating the death of a 28-year-old who was on Sunday evening crushed to death by an ATV motorcycle. Steve Ashby of Canal Bank Port Kaituma, North West District was a pillion rider on the motorcycle.

Enquiries disclosed that the motorcycle was being driven by a Brazilian National called “Ahoo,” south along the Nesano Backdam Main Access Road, North West District. It is alleged that he lost control of the said motorcycle which turned turtle.

As a result, Ashby was pinned under the vehicle and the driver fled the scene.

Ashby was picked up and escorted to the Port Kaituma District Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced him dead on arrival.
