The Mohabir Mookoorchand Persaud (MMP) Foundation teamed up with local Make-Up Artiste Vincent Shelto to open multi-million dollar clothing boutique and make up academy at Clifton on the Corentyne Coast Berbice.

Speaking with the Big Smith Crime Watch on Saturday at the event, Public Relations Officer of MMP Foundation Bisham Mohamed said that the boutique which provides employment to just about six persons also provided indirect employment to approximately thirty persons in the preparation stages.

He said the boutique carries only brand name products and are ideal for weddings, casual outings, recreational and other occasions.

During the opening on Saturday, persons were also able to shop and enjoy a discount of ten percent discount across the store.

The Make-Up Academy which is being operated by Georgetown base MUA Vincent Shelto will from today Monday, commence daily classes for five days over a two weeks period where participants can learn the basic and advance stages applying makeup.

Asked if he felt the hours were sufficient to produce persons who will be able to stand on their own with clients, the MUA responded in affirmative while stating that it take a lot of determination and focus and once the participants are serious about their involvement, then the objective would be achieved.
