The unmarked aircraft that made an illegal landing at an airstrip in Mahdia Region 8

The Guyana Police Force is investigating an unauthorised landing of a so far unmarked aircraft at an airstrip in Mahdia Region 8.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that the aircraft landed sometime after 18:00 hrs with two foreign nationals onboard.

The individuals were identifed as a Colombian and Venezuelan who were said to be the pilot and co-pilot of the aircraft.

We were informed that the men told detectives that they are in Guyana to conduct gold mining activities.

The two individuals were detained and a number of items seized including GPS trackers and a number of personal items.

Over the last few months, a number of illegal aircraft have landed at airports in Guyana’s interior locations with cocaine onboard.

Up to the time of this report, there was no confirmation of anything illegal was discovered in the aircraft.
