A man who is already accused, charged and placed before the court for fraudulently conducting business with several persons and not delivering their paid for items, is back in the court again.

Micah Sonaram of 2273 Flying Fish Street North Ruimveldt, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan on Wednesday slapped with three additional charges.

Sonaram has been taking money from persons and promising them to have heavy duty machineries and spare parts delivered to them but that is usually not done.

The first charge said on November 2020, at North Road Georgetown, while being solely entrusted by Yohance Smith with $1M to purchase a Bobcat equipment, he fraudulently converted the monies to his own use and benefit.

On the same day and at the same location, while being solely entrusted by Yohance Smith with $35,000, to buy an electric control joystick, he fraudulently converted the cash to his own use and benefit.

On that very day and at the same location, while being solely entrusted by Yohance Smith with $1M, to buy a 210 model excavator, he converted the sum to his own use and benefit.

Sonaram pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

He was however remanded to prison after the Prosecutor informed the Magistrate that he has numerous pending matters of a similar nature in other courts. He is to make his next court appearance on July 28.

DATE CHARGE AMOUNT BAIL
April 19 Defrauding $7 million $50,000
Dec 2020 Defrauding $8.5 Million $60,000
2017 Defrauding $5.5 Million $150,000

Several similar reports are lodged against Sonaram at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown, and at the Brickdam Police Station. Investigations are still in progress.
