A man was allegedly assaulting his spouse while driving along Jackson Street in Tucville when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, triggering a three-vehicle collision that involved a Guyana Defence Force (GDF) vehicle.

Reports indicate that a child who was also in the vehicle sustained visible injuries and was seen being taken away along with the alleged victim following the crash.

It is further alleged that the driver first collided with the GDF vehicle before attempting to flee the scene. Witnesses said gunshots were heard shortly after the initial impact, followed by the subsequent collision.

The matter is reportedly under investigation, as the GDF is yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
