Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) have seized a quantity of cocaine and cannabis following an operation at the Transport Wharf, Water Street, Kingston.

The interception occurred on Friday, March 20, 2026, after officers acted on intelligence received.

During the operation, a suspect was observed carrying two cardboard boxes. A search of the boxes revealed thirteen parcels containing cannabis and one parcel containing rock cocaine.

The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Jermain Mickle of Mont Repos, East Coast Demerara, was arrested at the scene. He was subsequently escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the narcotics.

CANU reported that the cannabis weighed approximately 12.104 kilograms, while the cocaine amounted to 1.272 kilograms.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
