Woman killed in Corentyne crash

A female pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident on the #67 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, on Thursday afternoon.
The woman, Priya Hunt, was struck in an accident involving motor lorries GAF 6180 and GAE 8823 at approximately 4:00 p.m. on August 27, 2026.
She sustained serious injuries and was transported to the #75 Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to police, eight occupants of GAF 6180 were also taken to hospital and are receiving treatment for minor injuries.
The drivers of both lorries are in police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
