Two murder accused among 3 latest Lusignan Prison escapees

Three prisoners are being hunted by the services after they escaped from the Lusignan Prison.

Those on the run are said to be Phillip Jhagroo who is on remand for murder, Mark Emmanuel who is on remand for robbery and Donald Baird who is also on remand for murder.

It is unclear at this point how the three managed to escape but it is no secrete that the Lusignan Prison has been proving to be a real challenge for law enforcement and prison officers.

Since the facility became overpopulated in 2017, the prison has been recording record numbers if prison breaks, riots and fires.

Recently, the Opposition called for a COI into the shooting death of two prisoners following a riot last month.

It was reported that the inmates were shot after attempting to attack a visiting delegation to the facility which included Home Affairs Minister Robenson Benn.
