SWAT kills businessman during Essequibo operation

An Essequibo businessman is now dead following an operation carried out by ranks from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit of the Guyana Poice Force. Dead is 29 Year old Orin Boston.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that the SWAT Unit went into the region on Tuesday night after intelligence was provided to the police about a number of illegalities that are taking place in various sections of the Region.

The SWAT Unit’s presence was to provide support to uniform ranks. The home of Boston was among the first spots targeted by the lawmen.

According to what this publication was told, when the SWAT Unit took up a position and breached the building, Orin Boston, it was reported by one of the SWAT Unit ranks, attempted to snatch the gun from an officer and he, Orin, was shot in his right arm. It is unclear what sort of weapon was used and if the bullet exited or which other organ, if any, the bullet struck.

Orin Boston is said to be no stranger to the police and had cause to be placed into police custody before for allegedly assaulting police officers.

We were told that just recently, he held an event at his business place with Disk Jockeys from Georgetown which saw the event going until 7: Am the following day.

The matter is under investigation.
