Top Cop sent home; Graham still hanging on string

Commissioner of Police Leslie James

At the apex of a police promotion list of senior officers, junior and other ranks, Commissioner of Police in congratulating those who were awarded reminded them that “Promotion comes from God”

This is even as the 2019 end of year senior police promotion list was void of any Assistant Commissioners of Police. A rank in the force for which several vacancies exists. All Senior Superintendents overlooked in police end of year promotion

The Official list of those promoted also saw three superintendents being elevated to the rank of Senior Superintendent with one in an acting capacity, three Superintendents, three Deputy Superintendents, and fourteen as Assistant Superintendents of Police.

In his message to the ranks, the Top Cop noted promotion is a reward for hard work, invaluable dedication, conscientiousness and selfless attitude.

“It is the demonstration of the understanding of your roles, purpose and responsibilities. It is and must be seen as a reward the unconditional serving and maintenance of zealously guarding our ideal” James told his officers and ranks.

He went on to let them know that it was their performances which have merited their achievement to embrace the gold standard and that they should never retreat from challenging themselves.

Commissioner James said that the force has work assiduously during the past year to advance the organisation by maintaining public security, public safety, trust and confidence.

“We must continue to win their respect and trust among the citizenry through exemplary conduct and professionalism” said the Police Commissioner.

Crime according to him was decreased. He however did not provide a percentage for that but stated that road fatalities have seen an increase of 8%.

Crime strategies with temporal and spatial analysis approached have been implemented and Operation Safe Road is in effect country James noted in his message.

“Heartiest congratulations are extended to all ranks who have received awards and also to newly promoted” the Country’s Top Cop told his officers and ranks.
