Police Sgt granted bail for assaulting Special Constable

A 42-year-old Police Sergeant has been charged with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm following an alleged incident involving a female Special Constable.
The accused, Orlanzo Webster of ‘B’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was charged under Section 49 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
The charge alleges that Webster assaulted a 40-year-old female Special Constable of the same address on Saturday, October 8, 2025.
Webster appeared on Wednesday, July 14, 2026, before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $150,000.
The matter was adjourned until September 14, 2026.
