Police Sergeant shot to head by cousin

32- Year old Police Sergeant Jermaine Semple who is stationed at the Tactical Services Unit is presently nursing a gunshot wound to the head as doctors are battling to keep him alive.
Semple of 106 Semple Street, Hope-town, West Coast Berbice was shot by his 27 year old cousin Fawazz McRae during a fight at a drinking establishment in Linden Sunday night. McRae is said to reside at Lot 1231 Central Amelia’s Ward Linden.
BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that while at the establishment, Semple and his brother got into a fight and McRae attempted to make peace by parting the two.
As a result, a fight broke out between Semple and McRae, during that fight, McRae who is a contractor and licensed firearm holder, whipped out his .32 pistol and discharge two rounds in the direction of Semple. It was then that Semple was struck the head and fell to the ground.
He was picked up and rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated, stabilised and transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for advanced medical treatment given the seriousness of his injuries.
When the police visited the scene, they were able to recover two .32 spent shells. They were also able to receive some information from persons who were present on what transpired.
Fawazz McRae Was arrested and is in police custody while his weapon was seized.
