Police Seek Public’s Help to Locate Headless Victim’s Partner

Authorities are requesting public assistance in locating 29-year-old Silos (or Silas) France, the partner of Paulette Edwards, whose headless body was discovered in Port Kaituma on Friday, June 7.

France, a resident of Long Pond, Port Kaituma, reportedly informed relatives several days ago that he was “heading into the interior,” without specifying his destination.

Edwards, 23, of Matthew’s Ridge, was last seen alive on June 4. Her partially nude and decomposing body, missing its head, was found in a clump of bushes in a swamped area near Cat Walk, Port Kaituma. Police discovered her head the following day, on Saturday, June 8.

A postmortem examination was scheduled for Monday, June 10. However, the plane transporting the pathologist experienced engine trouble, delaying the procedure.

Edwards, a mother of three and a sales representative at a Chinese supermarket, had traveled to Port Kaituma in May. She was reportedly staying with a female relative of the father of her one-year-old daughter. Initial reports suggested the child was missing, but police have since confirmed she has been found.

Authorities urge anyone with information regarding Paulette Edwards’ death or the whereabouts of Silos (or Silas) France to contact them immediately.
