Police are actively investigating the alleged murder of Francis Sukoo, a 22-year-old labourer from Sand Hill, Upper Berbice River. The incident reportedly occurred between 5:00 p.m. and 6:07 p.m. yesterday at Sand Hill, Region 10.

According to a police report, Sukoo was socializing with the suspect and a group of friends at a local shop when an argument broke out.

The disagreement escalated, leading Sukoo to slap the suspect several times. In response, the suspect left the scene, only to return moments later armed with a pair of scissors.

The suspect allegedly attacked Sukoo, stabbing him five times before fleeing the scene.

Sukoo collapsed from his injuries and was quickly rushed to a nearby medic, who determined that he had no pulse. He was then transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending doctor.

A police team is currently in the area, searching for the suspect as the investigation continues. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
