Two reportedly murdered by Prison escapee Akeem Wong at Saxacalli

Police are probing the reported homicide of David Gomes, a 49-year-old driver, and his 75-year-old mother Nellie Gomes at Saxacalli Mission, Essequibo River.

The incident, occurring between 17:00 and 20:00 hrs yesterday, involved the suspect, identified as prison escapee Akeem Wong, who allegedly attacked the victims after being given food and directions.

 

 

 

 

The child of the deceased witnessed the events, reporting that his father fought back against the suspect before succumbing to multiple chops.

 

 

 

 

Crime scene technicians documented the scene, revealing extensive injuries to both victims.

 

 

 

 

Akeem Wong is believed to have fled upon hearing an approaching boat.

 

 

 

 

Ongoing investigations are being conducted at the scene, and the child has been rescued. The bodies are presently in Bartica
