This morning, Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh conducted a post-mortem examination on the body of Richard Layne, a 35-year-old attorney-at-law from Century Palm Gardens, D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown.

According to police reports the examination took place around 10:00 AM.

The body was identified by Layne’s cousin, Michael Harding, and his brother, Ryan Layne.

Dr. Singh concluded that the cause of death was a “stab wound to the neck,” inflicted by a sharp instrument that penetrated from left to right, measuring at least 17 centimeters in length.
