Confirmed: one killed, one critical in six-vehicle smash on BJDRB

Police have confirmed that six (6) vehicles were involved in the horrific freak accident on the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge earlier today.
The crash has resulted in one confirmed fatality and one critically injured victim who has been escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) for emergency medical treatment.
Preliminary reports indicate that a truck lost control and rolled backward into several vehicles, causing a violent chain-reaction collision that left vehicles mangled and occupants seriously harmed.
Emergency resources have been deployed to assist with the removal of immobile and heavily damaged vehicles from the bridge. Police and other authorities remain on the scene as investigations continue.
Traffic flow has since been restored, though further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
