NEWS FLASH: Woman stabbed to death by son-in-law

Abused daughter constantly returned to arms of man who killed her mother

The body of the woman as it lay on her bridge 

56-year-old Velma Pickering of Vryheid’s Lust East Coast Demerara was this afternoon killed by her son in law who showed up at her home and stabbed her to death.

BIG Smith News Watch has been told that the woman was not pleased with the relationship her daughter and the man shared as he constantly abused the woman.

Police sources have indicated that the man hails from an East bank Demerara community and traveled East Coast where he committed the act.

After killing the woman, he attempted to flee but the residents chased after him, captured him, and kept him until the police arrived. It is unclear at this point if he was injured in the process.
