Murder-Suicide Rocks Crabwood Creek

September 15 2025
Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, was thrown into shock and horror on Sunday morning when a domestic dispute ended in unimaginable bloodshed. Thirty-six-year-old Alisha “Tito” Narine, a mother of two, was brutally chopped to death by her reputed husband, before he turned the weapon on himself by drinking poison.
The killing unfolded between 09:30 and 10:00 hrs at the Vishal Singh Sawmill Compound, where the couple had lived for years. Police said Narine’s body was found sprawled behind a heap of stones, dressed in shorts and a striped shirt, with her right foot almost severed below the knee, deep wounds to her shoulder, and her left hand slashed open.
Moments before the horror, Narine was on a WhatsApp video call with her cousin in the United States. The cousin, Taramattie Joseph, watched helplessly as Ram Singh crept up from behind with a cutlass. He grabbed the phone and chillingly declared: “Today, today I will murder her,” before cutting the call.
Narine’s 18-year-old daughter, Felisha, raced to the scene after being alerted by a neighbour. What she encountered was a nightmare no child should ever endure—her mother’s bloodied body lying motionless, hacked apart.
Police later launched a search for Singh and found him collapsed under a tree, about 360 feet away, after he had ingested Gramoxone, a deadly weed killer. He was rushed to hospital but died in agony while receiving treatment.
Both bodies are now at the Skeldon Public Hospital Mortuary, awaiting autopsies.
The savagery of the attack has left relatives traumatized and the Crabwood Creek community reeling, as another case of domestic violence spirals into a scene of unspeakable carnage.
