Businessman Mark Anthony Cromwell who was seen in a video battering an on duty policeman over the weekend has been arrested.

Cromwell who hails from Buxton and who is said to be close friends with a number of police officers at the supervisory level, was arrested at the Ogle International Airport just under a hour ago.

Police sources have indicated that Mark Anthony Cromwell was in the process of a boarding a flight to Suriname in an attempt to skip the plethora of charges he is likely to be slapped with for assaulting the police officer.

On Monday morning, Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool read ten charges to another man who along with Cromwell assaulted the policeman. That man was remanded to jail until May 17, 2023
