Dead: Kevin Hercules
Prosecutors, attorneys Alvaro Ramotar and Delon Fraser have outlined the case against La Rose, while defense attorney Ronald Bostwick has represented the accused throughout the proceedings.
The tragedy unfolded when Herculesβ body was discovered floating in the Berbice River on September 14, 2021.
According to police reports, he was last seen alive drinking at a local shop with friends before departing by boat. His body, later retrieved from the river, showed signs of violence, including a mutilated face and a neck wound.
Following a preliminary inquiry in the magistrates’
court, the magistrate determined that there was sufficient evidence for La Rose to stand trial for murder before a judge and jury.
