Joint Services vote on Friday; Mohamed go heavy on promises

August 21, 2025

Presidential Candidate of We Invest in Nationhood (WIN), Azruddin Monday on Thursday, announced a range of incentives and measures for joint services ranks and their families as Joint Services Ranks prepare to cast their ballots on Friday, August 22, 2025, across the country.

In a public message on Team Mohamed’s Facebook Page, which commenced with the National Anthem used before presidential addresses and speeches, Azruddin Mohamed went straight into telling the joint services that he has listened and he believes their quality of life needs to be improved.

“When injury occurs, compensation must never depend on favors; it must be guaranteed by law. All your medical expenses and recovery support will be fully covered. You will receive fair compensation as a right, not a favor. The families of our service men will receive a death in service compensation of $5 million, far more than the meager one million currently received. Maternity leave will be increased from 3 months to 4 months. Station sergeants will be given a duty-free allowance for vehicles of up to 200 cc, and inspectors will be given a duty-free allowance for vehicles of up to 2,500 cc. We will ensure there is a significant increase in your committed overtime, and we will continue to give you your year-end bonus,” Azruddin Mohamed said in his address.

Reduced house lot costs, a $700,000 grant to start building house foundations, priority issuance of house lot, and installed infrastructure and utilities before house lot approval letters are given are among the promises the WIN Party presidential candidate announced. It however, should be noted that already house lots are being issued to citizens after road, drains, utilities, and other infrastructures are in place.

Joint Services ranks are also being promised an increase in allowances and a reduction in pay as you earn PAYE. Azruddin said it is appalling that in 2025, travel, uniform, rent, and special duty allowances are so small.

“We should ensure that your children and spouses are considered. It is with that in mind that we will give each child a $100,000 Cash grant and provide free transportation to and from school, a scaled salary increase of up to 50%, every service member will get a substantial monthly risk allowance,”-Azruddin Mohamed announced.

He has also promised priority scholarships for the families of the men and women in uniform.
