Former government minister and member of parliament Jaipaul Sharma has issued a public apology to Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Anil Nandlall. Sharma who served as junior Finance Minister in the APNU AFC coalition government said that he agreed to apologise to the Nandlall following a meeting with his family, “my family all say that they are concern for my safety and they do not want a Die Hard Christmas but a Merry Christmas” Sharma’s social media post read, “I had to agree with them, since I was outnumbered and since I believe in democracy,” the former MP stated.
Sharma then gave by an undertaking to “close” his Facebook account five days after today’s post. The Attorney General is asking the court to grant him in excess of $25M for special damages and in excess of $25M for aggravated and exemplary damages along with other order(s). The post under focus was originally made by Sharma which he later reposted with an allegation, that post was shared by Bond.
