Former Director of DPI, Imran Khan would be laid to rest today Wednesday. The 43 year old died sometime Monday night at the COVID Hospital in Guyana after some 14 days after battling the infection.

On Tuesday, the family announced that he will be laid to rest in his village of Vergenoegen.

A viewing will take place at his mother’s residence from 11:00 to 2:00 at 117 A Section E, Vergenoegen, followed by Janazaah at 2:00.

Tributes continued to pour in from around the region where many expressed shock at his passing.

Michael Leonard who worked with Khan and knew him for several decades described Khan as a fearless warrior, “But privately a soft, easy going, thoughtful friend,” Leonard said in a social media post, “he loved to laugh, loved to gyaff and loved to dream.”

West Indies Cricketer Darren Sammy posted “This is a tough one, walk good my friend.”

Many of his friends remember Khan for being outspoken, Fianna Holder-Phill posted an image of “UG student government,” where she pointed out Khan was in the back along with now President Irfaan Ali in the front row.

Khan is left to mourn his mother, wife Tammy Khan and lots of relatives and friends.
