Hicken pushes for a ‘service-oriented’ Police Force

Commissioner of Police Clifton Hicken continues to make his mark in pushing the Guyana Police Force in the direction of a service-oriented organization.

On Saturday, the Top Cop revisited Vryheid’s Lust where estimates were examined for the construction of a chain-lined fence and enhancement of the community’s ballfield so that youths in the area can have recreational activities in a safe space.

Last week, Hicken and members of his team including Deputy Commissioner Brutus and Assistant Commissioner Simon went into the area and met with residents.

Since returning to Force Headquarters and more recently assuming the role of Commissioner of Police, Hicken has been working with several communities.

While working to enhance the recreational area for Vryheid’s Lust on the East Coast Demerara, the commissioner is also simultaneously rehabilitating the Front Circle Recreational Square while works are ongoing in Ithaca.
