Thirteen members of the Guyana Fire Service Marine Department have reached a significant milestone by successfully completing the Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) course at the Matpal Institution.

This achievement represents a pivotal moment in their professional journey, demonstrating their unwavering dedication to ensuring maritime safety and efficiency.

The STCW course is designed to equip seafarers with essential skills and knowledge vital for safe and effective operations at sea. Covering a wide array of topics such as firefighting, personal survival techniques, and first aid, the course prepares participants to navigate the challenges encountered while working onboard vessels.

The receipt of their certificates symbolizes the commitment and preparedness of Marine Department personnel to uphold international maritime standards.

Armed with their new qualifications, these individuals are poised to enhance maritime safety and professionalism within their respective roles.

This accomplishment underscores the Guyana Fire Service’s steadfast commitment to professional development and the maintenance of high industry standards. It serves as a testament to the organization’s belief in the importance of ongoing training to ensure safety and excellence at every level.
