March 9 2026
The Beverly Hills home of global music superstar Rihanna was struck by gunfire Sunday afternoon in a shocking incident that prompted a rapid police response and the arrest of a suspected shooter.
Authorities confirmed that the singer was inside the property at the time but was not injured.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1:20 p.m. local time on March 8 at Rihanna’s luxury residence in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles, near Beverly Hills.
Investigators say a 30-year-old woman allegedly fired multiple rounds toward the property before fleeing the scene.
Police believe the suspect discharged between seven and ten shots, reportedly from an AR-15 style rifle, while parked in a vehicle across the street from the singer’s home. Several bullets struck the property’s front gate and surrounding structures, with at least one round reportedly penetrating part of the residence.
The suspect was located and taken into custody shortly after the shooting, and authorities recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the attack. Officials have not yet disclosed a motive for the shooting, and the case is now being handled by the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division.
Sources indicated that Rihanna, who lives at the property with partner A$AP Rocky and their children, was present at the residence during the incident. Despite the alarming barrage of gunfire, no injuries were reported, and the singer is said to be safe.
The mansion purchased by Rihanna in 2021 for about $13.8 million sits in one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhoods, home to several high-profile celebrities.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine the suspect’s motive and whether the singer was intentionally targeted. Rihanna’s representatives have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
