Four Accused Make Further Court Appearance in Gas Station Bombing Case

November 12 2025
Four of the seven persons charged in connection with the deadly explosion at the Mobil Fuel Station on Regent and King Streets, Georgetown, made another virtual appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty on Wednesday, as the case continues before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Those appearing were Daniel Alexander Ramirez Poedemo, the alleged mastermind behind the attack, along with Johnny Boodram, Krystal LaCruz, and Alexander Bettancourt. The matter was called for report and has been adjourned to December 3.
No new submissions were made during today’s proceedings, and the four accused continue to face terrorism-related charges connected to the October 26 explosion that killed a six-year-old girl, Soraya Bourne and injured three others.
The court previously heard that Poedemo, a Venezuelan national, allegedly led a coordinated operation involving both Venezuelan and Guyanese nationals.
He is accused of placing an explosive device near the gas cylinder storage area at the Mobil Fuel Station, Regent and King Streets, Georgetown, before fleeing moments prior to the blast.
The other three accused — Wayne Correia, Ramesh Pramdeo, and Jennifer Rodriguez — are scheduled to return before Magistrate Alisha George on November 24, 2025.
The case remains under active investigation as authorities continue to trace cross-border links and possible financing related to the attack.
