The Guyana Police Force has confirmed the death of Clinton Chase, also known as ‘Ras’ or ‘Ras Putin’, a 70-year-old resident of Lot 148 Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown.

Mr. Chase was discovered dead on the northern parapet in front of his home on April 7th, 2024, at 22:30 hrs.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that Mr. Chase lived alone and had been deported from the USA over a decade ago.

According to details provided by his granddaughter, Michelle Ward, 52, she received a call from an unknown number around 22:10 hrs, informing her that her grandfather had fallen from his motorcycle in front of his house.

Upon reaching the scene, Michelle found Mr. Chase lying motionless on his back. The Police and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) were notified, and upon examination of Mr. Chase’s body, wounds were discovered on the right side of his jaw and left upper arm and chest.

Dr. Walcott from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) pronounced him dead at the scene.

The body of Mr. Chase is currently at the Memorial Gardens mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Chase’s death are ongoing.
