The body of an elderly man was discovered at a residence in ‘C’ Field, South Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, on Monday, March 23, 2026.

The deceased has been identified as 78-year-old pensioner Ronald Gobin, who lived alone at the address.

According to a police report, the discovery was made around 11:40 hrs after the matter was brought to the attention of authorities.

Initial information indicates that Gobin’s body was found inside his apartment in an advanced state of decomposition.

A doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation later pronounced him dead.

The body has since been taken to Memorial Funeral Parlour, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination as efforts continue to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
