As a result of the impact, the entire car became wrangled and the police constable was pinned inside. The occupant was assisted out of the vehicle by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Skeldon Public Hospital where he was treated and sent away.

Shortly after, a Guyana Fire Service tender along with three ranks, members of the Guyana Police Force and a team from the Skeldon Hospital arrived at the location assisted the driver out of the vehicle.

He was taken to the hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who treated and referred him to New Amsterdam Public Hospital for further treatment. His condition regards as serious with his intestine protruding. The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
